On Saturday, the J.O. Obaniyi Foundation successfully hosted its Empowerment Programme. It was more than just distribution — it was a day of inspiration, knowledge, and transformation.
The programme opened with Mrs. Olamide Shonibare (Administrator), who shared the purpose of the event and anchored it on this year’s theme: “Empowerment Beyond Giving.” She reminded all present that true empowerment is not only about providing resources, but also about equipping people with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to thrive.
This was followed by a stirring presentation from Mr. Babatunde Obaniyi (Director of Partnership), who shared the vision and mission that continue to drive our work.
A moving word of exhortation from Rev. Dr. Ajibade Olufunke uplifted hearts, while Mrs. Bola Oyewumi (Guest Speaker) provided widows with financial literacy insights and guided students on how to remain focused on their career paths.
The programme came alive with testimonies from both past and new beneficiaries, proving the long-lasting impact of empowerment. The highlight of the day was the presentation of grants to widows and back-to-school items to 100 children, jointly carried out by Mr. Babatunde Obaniyi and Rev. Dr. Ajibade Olufunke.
